Guns, Knives, and Chaos: Christmas Violence Erupts at Sky Harbor Airport

A family feud erupted into violence at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Christmas night, leaving three people shot and one stabbed in a Terminal 4 restaurant outside the security perimeter.

Police responded around 9:45 p.m., finding three gunshot victims and later detaining a juvenile girl and a man, who was also stabbed. Investigators believe the five people involved were all related.

One woman remains in critical condition, while two men with gunshot wounds and the stabbing victim are stable. Weapons were recovered, but no charges have been filed yet.

Adding to the chaos, an unrelated man arrived at the airport armed after hearing false reports of an active shooter. He was detained during a confrontation with police.

Terminal 4’s security checkpoint briefly shut down, but normal operations resumed quickly. “This is scary,” said Phoenix police Sgt. Mayra Reeson. “It was Christmas evening. Everybody is trying to get home.”

Authorities confirmed no ongoing threats, but the incident casts a shadow over what should have been a peaceful holiday night.
