Man Held on $2 Million Bail After Mass Shooting

A man named James Duane Ortley has been arrested and charged after a deadly shooting that killed four people. The shooting happened in Minnesota and involved five people who were inside a car.

Police say Ortley shot into the car, killing four people and seriously hurting the fifth. The person who survived helped identify Ortley as the shooter.

The victims were part of the Native American community. Officials say the shooting may be connected to gangs, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Ortley has been charged with four counts of second-degree murder. He is being held on $2 million bail.

“This was a brutal and senseless act of violence,” said the local sheriff. “We are working to bring justice to the victims and their families.”

Community members are mourning the loss. A vigil was held to honor the lives lost. “We are heartbroken,” said a tribal leader. “These were loved members of our community.”

Ortley has not yet entered a plea. If convicted, he could face many years in prison.
