Grand Theft Kid: 12-Year-Old Leads Cops on 160-Mile High-Speed Joyride

A 12-year-old boy stole his grandfather’s car and drove 160 miles across Washington state before police ended his escapade with a PIT maneuver in Moses Lake.

Grant County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted by Issaquah Police, who suspected the boy was heading to Moses Lake. Deputies spotted the car in a residential area and initiated a pursuit.

The chase ended near Randolph Road and State Route 17 when officers safely disabled the vehicle. Despite the high-speed joyride, no injuries were reported, and vehicle damage was minimal.

The unnamed boy now faces charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and felony eluding. Authorities are investigating how the wild cross-state journey began.
