Woman Arrested for Tesla Dealership Vandalism and Arson Attempt

A Colorado woman has been arrested in connection with multiple acts of vandalism and an attempted arson at a Tesla dealership in Loveland, authorities announced Wednesday.

Lucy Grace Nelson, 40, was taken into custody late Monday after allegedly returning to the dealership with incendiary devices and vandalism materials. She was booked into Larimer County Jail on felony charges, including the use of explosive devices during a felony and criminal mischief. Federal charges are also expected, according to police.

The incidents began on January 29, with further acts of vandalism reported on February 2 and February 7. Police discovered graffiti on vehicles and the Tesla building, some of which contained offensive and hateful imagery.

Authorities have not determined a motive, but police spokesperson Chris Padgett noted that the graffiti suggests a connection to protests against Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Similar demonstrations have taken place at Tesla dealerships nationwide.

Nelson has declined to speak with investigators, invoking her right to an attorney. She remains in custody on a $100,000 bond. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Loveland Police Department.
