ICE St. Paul arrested Cristofer Alexander Ramirez-Olivia, 28, on Thursday, the White House confirmed. Ramirez-Olivia was previously convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor in 2018.
Court records show he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree charges, receiving a stayed sentence and 90 days of home monitoring. His third-degree charge was dismissed at the time.
The arrest highlights ongoing immigration enforcement under the Trump administration, which has intensified scrutiny of criminal convictions involving non-citizens. Minnesota hosts four ICE detention facilities, including those in Freeborn and Sherburne counties.
