A chaotic police chase unfolded Thursday in Bloomington after a driver reportedly crashed into two parked vehicles and attempted to run others off the road. The pursuit began around 1:50 p.m. when officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, leading police through I-494 and Penn Avenue before circling back to I-35W.
Authorities eventually disabled the car using a PIT maneuver and stop sticks near Bloomington. Despite the vehicle being immobilized, the driver refused to exit, prompting officers to deploy chemical agents. The suspect finally surrendered and was taken into custody.
Bloomington Police confirmed the incident, which escalated to dangerous levels, but no injuries were reported. The driver now faces multiple charges following the high-stakes pursuit.
