Christmas Tragedy: St. Paul Police Probe Infant’s Death Tied to Narcotics

St. Paul Police are investigating the heartbreaking death of a one-year-old child on Christmas Day, suspected to be linked to narcotics.

Officers responded to a call on the 100 block of 5th St. E around 1:30 p.m., where they found the infant unresponsive. The child was rushed to Regions Hospital but tragically did not survive.

In a post on X, the SPPD confirmed two arrests in connection with the incident and indicated that drugs may have played a role in the infant’s death.

The investigation continues as the community grapples with the devastating loss of life during the holiday season.
