A rented Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump Las Vegas hotel Wednesday morning, killing the driver and injuring seven bystanders in what authorities are probing as a possible terror attack. The blast, which occurred just 15–20 seconds after the truck entered the valet area, left behind a scorched scene of fireworks mortars, gasoline cans, and camping fuel in the truck’s bed.

Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed the vehicle was rented in Colorado via Turo, the same platform used for the truck involved in the New Orleans terror attack earlier that day. Despite speculation, McMahill stated the explosion was an “isolated incident” with no evidence of co-conspirators.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is actively assisting in the investigation, providing video evidence from the truck’s journey and unlocking the vehicle remotely after its auto-lock system engaged post-blast. Musk later announced on X that the explosion was unrelated to the Cybertruck itself and attributed it to a bomb or fireworks in the truck bed.

The Trump Las Vegas hotel, frequently targeted due to its connection to President-elect Donald Trump, issued a statement emphasizing guest safety. Meanwhile, federal authorities, including President Biden, are monitoring the situation closely.

This explosion marks another dark chapter in a day marred by violence, as investigators examine potential links between this incident and the deadly New Orleans attack. While authorities assert the situation is now under control, questions remain about the broader implications of these coordinated events.
