ST. PAUL, Minn. — The family of a construction worker killed by a dump truck at a downtown St. Paul work site in 2022 has reached an $8.5 million settlement.
Peter Michael Davis, 61, died near the Minnesota Children’s Museum after being struck by a truck. His widow, Kristi Davis, filed a lawsuit against Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc., SGP Contracting, and the truck’s driver.
Court records revealed that the driver tested positive for cocaine and THC following the accident. Ti-Zack Concrete’s safety director, responsible for drug testing and safety decisions, failed to follow proper procedures. Instead of using a certified lab, he relied on the driver’s self-reported results after a visit to Regions Hospital.
